At Silas Street Dental, we strive to deliver a professional and personalised service to every patient. We believe in tailoring appointments so patients get the exact dental treatment they need, within as few visits as possible.
Calling or visiting our dental practice is your first step in developing a professional relationship with our team. A short chat to our knowledgeable Reception staff will help them accurately pinpoint the length of appointment you require. Answering a New Patient questionnaire (available to download here) that outlines your dental and medical history ensures we can specifically accommodate your dental needs. We will also take a quick photo of you for our practice records and identification purposes. This will be treated in the strictest confidence and only used to facilitate your treatment.
After you've scheduled a dental assessment, it's time to come in and meet one of our two proficient dentists who will perform a comprehensive oral examination. This involves a careful inspection of your mouth, teeth and gums to evaluate your dental hygiene and what work (if any) is needed. Your dentist will be looking for any signs of tooth decay and cavities, loose or broken teeth, damaged tooth fillings or gum disease.
Sometimes X-ray images will be needed to facilitate an oral diagnosis. In that case you can be assured of the smallest dose of radiation, as our digital x-rays incorporate the latest technology of low-dose radiation, patient comfort and safety, as well as speed. You will be able to view them within seconds on a monitor in front of you. Your dentist can then show you precisely what is occurring between teeth, under existing fillings, in the roots of your teeth, or the bone surrounding them. You will also have the opportunity to discuss any dental concerns and treatment options with your dentist at this point.
